Walking into this restaurant, the family atmosphere put a huge smile on my face and I couldn't wait to try the homecooked meals that were about to come out of that kitchen! More and more people from Chile seem to be immigrating to Canada every year. From 2006 to 2015, 3318 Chilean people landed in Canada, and after Ontario, Quebec has the biggest number of Chilean immigrants. With them, they brought their culture and amazing food.

MENU

This restaurant definitely offered a large selection. The dishes were written on chalkboards placed around the front of the restaurant. You could get sandwiches both with meat, vegetarian and vegan options. Empanadas, quesadillas, burritos, fish, tacos, chicken, salads were all options.

SALAD

We were first served salad which consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and, very unusually, it had black olives. The pieces of lettuce were very big. The dressing that it was paired with was oil that was very light and kind of vinegary. Overall it was a really clean way to start off a meal.

MEAL #1 CHICKEN ENCHILADAS

The meat was super tender and shredded. It was tightly wrapped and very soft, and It was soaked in the sauce which was very spicy. It had a mozzarella flavor which I appreciated. It definitely reminded me of Mexican enchiladas that I've had. The enchilada dish also came with black beans. They were soft but still had a little bit of crunch on the outside. They were flavorful and didn't have that much seasoning. As a result, it matched all the flavors of the enchilada very well without overpowering it as they melted in your mouth,

MEAL #2 BEEF TACOS

We also ordered beef tacos as a second dish. Just like the chicken in the enchiladas the beef was also shredded and was placed into a soft tortilla. Although I think they were toasted a little bit which added some crunch to the overall experience. The taco melted in my mouth when I bit into it. The taco had onions with some very simple flavoring what I'm guessing with salt-and-pepper, and guacamole. Speaking of the guacamole oh it was so creamy, the entire thing was a little oily but it just helped it melt in your mouth even more. The beef tacos were paired with rice, veggies, and nachos. It was a really simple meal but wonderful.

OVERALL

Overall, this was a great find! A cute, small, restaurant in Mile End. I would highly recommend. It seemed to have a lot of Mexican influences, as most of the menu is something you would also see in a Mexican restaurant because tacos, enchiladas, nachos and etc are usually seen as Mexican dishes, but I feel like it added a little touch of Chilean flavor.
