Emeraude De Bangkok seems to be a very popular restaurant found in Dorval. It offers beautifully presented Thai food for a reasonable price. This place has an outstanding atmosphere that can be perfect for date night, a party or any event! People from Thailand have been immigrating to Canada since the 1950's, with an increase in immigration in 1997 due to a financial crisis in Thailand. People immigrated here in search for new work opportunities and brought with them their mouthwatering food.
MENU
The menu starts with soups and appetizers like salads, rolls, and dumplings. Then it moves to the main meals. This section is separated into the different meats and seafood. My favorite way to order at places like these is to order everything you'd like to try and then share with whomever you're going with. That way you can taste a bit of every dish that intrigues you and still gets a full meal with it. To finish off your meal, you have the rice and noodles section as well as the vegetables, which in my opinion are the side dishes. Finally, they're plenty of desserts and drinks to choose from. They also offer specials in the back of the menu!
SOUPS

Wonton Soup: This was a traditional Wonton soup you can find at many Thai and Szechuan restaurants. It consists of a pork-stuffed wontons that have been simmered in chicken broth along with carrots, shallots, and lettuce. The pork inside the wonton was deliciously seasoned with I'm guessing soy sauce and ginger root ( as that is what is usually used). The wonton was soft and soaked up the flavors from the broth and vegetables.
Hot and Sour soup: The Hot and Sour soup came with a plentiful amount of ingredients including different kinds of meats, vegetables, spices, and tofu.
APPETIZERS

Imperial rolls and plum sauce: Without the plum sauce, the imperial rolls were very tasty as well as slightly greasy, which is to be expected as they were fried. The vegetables inside were very flavorful and the roll or 'dough' did not overpower the taste of the vegetables.

Fried Wonton: The fried wonton, much like the one in the soup, was stuffed with pork and fried in oil. Unlike the soup, though, this was where you were able to taste the seasoning of the pork and the taste reminded me a lot of Indian Tikka Masala. The outside was crispy while the inside was soft.
VEGETABLES

This sautéed mixed vegetables came with pieces of baby corn, broccoli, cabbage, carrots and string beans. Altogether it was very juicy and seem to soak up whatever oil that it was sautéed in without being too greasy.
Meats

Szechuan Pepper Chicken: As the main meal I ordered the sesame pepper chicken that came on top of spinach and was seasoned with shallots on the side of it as well as sprouts and shredded carrots. This chicken was very spicy and peppery and SUPER tender. It seemed to have the same greasy/oily/juicy texture that the vegetables did. It was seasoned very well with pepper and it was sautéed and soy sauce because it did have a little bit of saltiness incorporated in it as well as the spiciness.
Orange Beef: As my last meat meal, we ordered the orange beef. The orange beef came coated in a crunchy batter and the meat itself was very tender. The batter was thick so there was a lot less meat actually inside than I was expecting. I still felt that the crunch of the batter really balanced everything out well. The sauce on top seems to be sweet and sour a little bit at the same time because it was an orange sauce and it paired fantastically with the savoriness of the seasoned meat. This also came with bean sprouts and carrots.
* We ordered a plate white rice to finish off our meal*
We did not order dessert but when we asked for the bill they came with a fortune cookie for me and the person I went with.
OVERALL
Overall, this restaurant has an exquisite selection of different Thai and Szechuan dishes that I would highly recommend. Perfect for date night, a party or if you're like me, a little father-daughter time.
